Description
Set 2h from Bordeaux and 3h from Paris, the Domaine des Etangs ranges over 2 500 acres of stunning protected nature. It offers 29 bedrooms, distributed between the beautiful 13th-century Château, the Longère (former stables), and 6 farm cottages.
The Domain offers various facilities and activities to its guests: locally-sourced restaurant, wellbeing centre, an art exhibition with a new exhibition each year, inside and outside swimming pools, floating tennis court, playground for children, bicycles, little boats… A family-eco-friendly hotel.
The Domain is set amongst 7 lakes, beautiful pastures and woods, perfect for long walks and being in nature.
Domain des Etangs are doing good things for the environment. With their own farm and vegetable garden, they supply their own organic and sustainable ingredients for the kitchen. On top of that, sustainable management practices are used by The Domain towards the surrounding forestry. Local artisans and producers of materials are used to furnish and repair the Domaine. Below are some of the other practices from The Domain:
- Installation of a high-capacity boiler using wood chips for heating and hot water in order to limit fuel consumption
- Purchase of green electricity from renewable energy sources
- Use of low consumption bulbs in as many areas as possible
- Provision of 100% electric vehicles for guests and internal services
- Use for part of electric robot mowers
- Partnership with Tesla for two charging stations
- Switching the entire farm to organic and studying animal welfare
- Sustainable forest management with PEFC certification
- Soil analyzes carried out by Claude and Lydia Bourguignon to optimize their natural management over time
- Collaboration with the National Museum of Natural History and the OPIE in order to carry out an inventory and count of all the odonate species present at the Domaine.

Domaine des Etangs | Five Bedroom Cottage Pégase
Bathed in sunlight, Pégase seems to carry all the world’s hopes of beauty on its wings. It is crossed by a huge wooden footbridge that, at first glance, appears to divide it yet simply creates an invisible barrier between the hall and lounge. The Pégase farmhouse covers 273 m² and has five bedrooms, including three on the ground floor.

Open any of the five doors of the lounge to reveal Jupiter’s orderly, beaming wisdom. A lounge, a bedroom, a walk-in shower, a hidden dressing room. Each room can be shut off from the others to allow guests the pleasure of opening and discovering them.
Domaine des Etangs | Junior Suite Season: Printemps, Eté, Automne, Hiver
This suite features white and gold lights, travelling up and down, emblematic of the bloom of nature in the summer, when nights are short and evenings are long. Flanked by the Printemps and Automne suites, this duplex-style suite features a lounge downstairs and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs.

Exclusive and unique with its stone walls, Licorne overlooks the ponds. Licorne is the perfect place for a couple, a stone’s throw from the Château. The 106 m² farmhouse affords a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.

A sense of silence and retreat presides here. With its glass ceiling in the tower, its fireplace and purple hues, Saturne cultivates a feeling of romantic refinement. Here, the hourglass of time halts its course, to the delight of guests.

Venus is the largest and cosiest of our suites. A place that nurtures love and beauty. Welcome to the kingdom of chiaroscuro, bathed in blue and silver, designed to let you dream and lose yourself in the natural rhythm of time. The bedroom, intimate and cosy, fosters introspection when, as you lie down, your gaze is drawn to the glass ceiling that reveals the interior architecture of the tower.

Located below Pégase and built on a rock, Cassiopée welcomes you in its peaceful setting. To the right, after the door, stands a huge fireplace with a welcoming hearth. Cassiopée is located at the heart of the Domaine, stretching over 221 m², with two upstairs bedrooms: Univers and Astéroïde.

Located between two ponds, Centaure offers a view that stretches into the distance, as far as the pastures. Inside, a vast lounge dining room opens onto a large fireplace and a wooden staircase.
