Description
Breiten – the smallest spa resort in the Valais – lies at the gateway to the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site Swiss Alps – Aletsch Jungfrau. On a south-facing sun terrace above the Rhone River at 900 m above Mörel, the beautiful Upper Valais spa and holiday resort is only eight kilometres away from the pleasant Alpine town of Brig. It can be reached all year round by car and train and, with its effective 33° C warm brine bath and numerous therapy options, is one of the twenty-five recognised Swiss spas.
Spa hotel Salina Maris has an 800 meter squared spa area supplied with fresh 33 degree celsius brine water.
The brine water
More than 200 million years ago, the earth was largely flooded by oceans. Side arms of the Tethys Sea stretched across the Alps to Alsace. In the following millions of years, the water masses slowly withdrew from the land. Inland seas were created, which evaporated, were repeatedly flooded, and finally dried up completely. This enormous process of evaporation and flooding took hundreds of millions of years. Huge salt deposits remained in various places. In Switzerland, the salt deposits of Schweizerhalle (BL) and Bex (VD) are particularly noteworthy. The entire mineral wealth of more than 200 million years of earth history is contained in these salts. They are extracted from the earth’s bosom to the surface and brought to latitudes in all their unspent state. Here they develop their full life and healing power. In our small inland sea, SALINA MARIS, the stored power of primeval times unfolds with all its might.
Health in Breiten
The brine unfolds its positive effects especially in the case of diseases of the musculoskeletal system (rheumatism, mechanical damage, operations) as well as general signs of wear and tear and aging. The more a person moves away from his biological and mental guidelines, the more he uses up his vital energy.
The hotel has a wellness and fitness area which hotels are invited to use free of charge.
The Brieten area is a beautiful ski area with access to plenty of ski runs for the winter and summer hiking trails in the summer.
